Giving Back to the Community
Group 74, established in 1974, is a women's service club based in Brooklin which hosts annual events such as: Victorian Tea, Hallween BooFest. Our mandate is "For A Better Community". Proceeds from our events are donated back to our local charities and our community. Please click here to visit local organizations and charities that Group 74 supports.
During 2010, all of our fundraising efforts were directed to the commission of a "Legacy Bench". This bench was donated to the new Brooklin Community Centre & Library courtyard. We were pleased to partner with Luke Andrews who created this special bench for everyone to enjoy, re-enforcing the idea of bringing the community together. As you see on one end of the bench, a grandfather is sitting reading Goldilocks & the Three Bears with his granddaughter while the other end has the mother, father and baby bear. We were especially pleased as the wood from the bench is from the site and has been repurposed into this wonderful landmark.
"Group74 is delighted to give back to the community and we are proud of our partnership with Luke & Sandy on this very special project."
