History of Our Logo

summer art fest logo 2016 300The Summer ArtFest Logo symbolizes the role and interplay of the performing and visual arts in the creation of the 1st Annual Summer ArtFest for the benefit and enjoyment of the community. Artist Martha Weber had to consider how a single image could best convey the creativity and excitement of both the performing and visual arts. She began with a rich painting capturing the intensity of the summertime colours we may see in a day right from sunrise to sunset. It took a number of paintings before she was satisfied with the result. Thereafter she was photographed at the easel, by Andris Piebalgs, making final touches to the artwork. The resulting image was then blended with other images she chose to convey music and people in joyous dance. Finally graphic designer Lisa Ruck added the Summer ArtFest text and year to complete the SAF Logo.

And that is how an artist painted a community in summertime enjoying music, dance and the arts! A true collaboration!
